PHOENIX — Former Kamloops Blazers goaltender Connor Ingram has been named one of three finalists for the NHL’s Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy.

The award recognizes the “player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey.”

Playing for the Arizona Coyotes, Ingram had a breakout season in 2023-24, registering a .907 save percentage in 50 games after taking over the Coyotes’ top goaltending spot. He also tied for the league lead with six shutouts.

Born in Saskatoon, Ingram was a Blazer from 2014 to 2017. The Tampa Bay Lightning drafted him in the third round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.

The 27-year-old’s hockey journey took him to the Nashville Predators organization before the Coyotes picked him up on waivers in 2022. This season was the first in a three-year, $5.85-million contract for Ingram.

The impacts of previously undiagnosed obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) led Ingram to enter the league’s Player Assistance Program in 2021.

The other two finalists for the Masterton Trophy are Carolina’s Frederik Andersen and Calgary’s Oliver Kylington.
