KAMLOOPS — A temporary shelter for Kamloops residents experiencing homelessness will operate for another year.

The site of the former Stuart Wood School at 245 St. Paul St. in downtown Kamloops was originally leased in April 2023.

In a news release issued Tuesday (April 30), the BC. The province says it will provide $1.3 million for the former Stuart Wood School shelter’s operation through BC Housing. The province adds the shelter has been extended in partnership with Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc, the City of Kamloops and Out of the Cold.
