Kamloops man reported missing in November found dead in Thompson River; no criminality suspected: RCMP
KAMLOOPS — RCMP say the death of a local man whose body was found in the Thompson River this week is not believed to be suspicious.
In a news release, spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says the Kamloops RCMP detachment received a report Tuesday (Apr. 16) that a person’s body was spotted by occupants of a helicopter flying over the river.
Officers located and recovered the body with the help of Kamloops Search and Rescue volunteers, and have now confirmed it to be that of a 32-year-old man reported missing on November 17, 2023.
That description matches that of Kyle Ferg, whose phone was found at McArthur Island Park shortly after his disappearance. RCMP say the man was last believed to be in the Mission Flats area.
