SUN PEAKS, B.C. — Sun Peaks Resort is holding an annual gathering Saturday (Feb. 17) to remember a resident who’s been missing for six years.

Ryan Shtuka was last seen leaving a party on Burfield Drive around 2:00 a.m. on February 17, 2018, to walk a short distance home. The next day, the 20-year-old did not show up for work and has not been seen or heard from since.

To keep Ryan at the top of mind and to support the Shtuka family, Sun Peaks Resort is holding “A Run for Ryan.” Those wishing to participate are asked to meet at the top of the Sunburst Express chairlift at 3:00 p.m. Saturday to take part in a group ski down 5 Mile.

Once the group reaches the village, participants are invited to ride the Village Platter or Village Carpet to the top, where Ryan worked during his season in Sun Peaks. Complimentary hot chocolate will be served.
