KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP used a taser to arrest a man for reportedly assaulting staff at a healthcare facility in Brocklehurst over the weekend.
In a news release issued Wednesday (Feb. 14), Kamloops RCMP say officers were called to Southill Street at around 12:20 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 10). Once officers arrived, police say the man jumped on the hood of a cruiser and began striking it.
When an officer exited his vehicle and told the man he was under arrest, police say he charged at the officer who then used a taser and took him into custody.
The man was taken to hospital for assessment and care.
