WolfPack Volleyball earns Saturday split

KAMLOOPS — TRU WolfPack Volleyball earned a split on Saturday versus the University of Fraser Valley Cascades.

The women kicked things off, playing against the 6th best team in the country, dropping a four setter 3-1.

All four sets would be incredibly close with no team winning by more than 3 points on the night, 25-23, 25-22, 22-25, 25-22 for UFV.

Brooklyn Olfert led the offense for the ‘Pack with 19 kills, followed by Ema Palkovicova and rookie Keira Gent with 13. Libby Meldrum had 38 assists.

TRU remains on the road next weekend as they face the Brandon Bobcats.

The men, in classic TRU fashion, played a five set marathon, eventually winning 3-2, 25-18, 23-25, 27-29, 25-22, 15-13.

The Aussie, Sam Flowerday, had a game-high 22 kills to lead the ‘Pack to victory. Rookie Aiden Goetz had a career high 10 kills for TRU, while fellow freshman Walker Sodaro had 25 assists.

TRU now sits at 10-10 on the season and firmly in the playoff hunt.
