Death of person whose remains were found in fire debris near Red Bridge not suspicious: RCMP
KAMLOOPS — RCMP say the death of a person whose remains were found near the Red Bridge last week is not being considered suspicious.
The person has not been identified publicly. Kamloops RCMP officers were called to an area near the bridge and Pioneer Park last Tuesday (Jan. 23), finding what they first termed ‘suspicious debris.’ The debris was later determined to be human remains that were contained in the ashes of a fire that was extinguished several days earlier in a transient camp.
Detachment spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says several police units looked into the circumstances in the days since the discovery.
