KAMLOOPS — What was a snowfall warning has transformed into something equally treacherous on the Coquihalla Highway.
Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for the Coquihalla between Kamloops and Hope, as well as the Okanagan Connector between Merritt and Kelowna.
The forecasting service says a Pacific frontal system Friday afternoon (Jan. 19) will combine with cold air to generate an extended period of freezing rain.
Driving surfaces can get very slippery if rain is falling at freezing temperatures.
