Wanted Kamloops man arrested in Alexis Creek area

KAMLOOPS — Several RCMP detachments worked together to collar a wanted Kamloops man over the weekend.

In a news release, Staff Sgt. Janelle Shoihet of the Kamloops detachment says 28-year-old Tyler Meldrum was wanted on 12 warrants — two out of Kamloops, nine out of Alexis Creek and one from Williams Lake — before he was caught.

“Efforts to locate Meldrum in Kamloops were unsuccessful but an investigator learned that he was likely hiding out in a residence in Alexis Creek RCMP’s area and connected with RCMP officers there,” said Shoihet.

RCMP officers in Alexis Creek had been trying to track Meldrum down for some time, but were unable to until Kamloops officers confirmed his whereabouts and communicated them to the Alexis Creek detachment.

Meldrum was arrested early Sunday morning (Jan. 14) at a home in the community of Anaham.

Meldrum had a court appearance scheduled for Monday in Williams Lake.
