‘Pack comes up shy against Wesmen
WINNIPEG — The Thompson Rivers WolfPack women’s volleyball team played an intense game against the Winnipeg Wesmen last night (Jan. 6), but fell short 3-1. With the result, the team now moves to 3-9 on the season.
“Overall it was a great effort,” said head coach Chad Grimm. “At the end of the day I think we just had troubles stopping their middle and their wing hitters out of system. I think we put ourselves in a good spot defensively and just couldn’t close it out.
The men’s team also came up close, when three of the four sets needed extra points as the TRU lost 3-1. As a result, the ‘Pack now sit at 5-7 on the season.
“Another great match for our guys. Credit to Winnipeg for playing great down the stretch in sets two and three,” said head coach Pat Hennelly. “Time to regroup and get ready for another emotional week.”
