Monte Creek Fire Hall and Pritchard Water Treatment Plant part of TNRD 2024 capital projects plan
KAMLOOPS — A water treatment plant in Pritchard and a fire hall in Monte Creek are two of the capital projects on the Thompson-Nicola Regional District’s (TNRD) list this year.
The TNRD Board of Directors approved the district’s 2024 Capital Plan during a meeting on Dec. 14. In a news release issued Thursday (Jan. 4), the TNRD says $11,735,901 will be spent on capital projects in 2024, which includes:
- Pritchard Water Treatment Plant ($6.15 million)
- Pritchard Wastewater Treatment Plant ($2.15 million)
- Monte Creek Fire Hall ($1.55 million)
- TNRD Regional Fire Departments Next-Generation 9-1-1 Upgrade ($1.50 million)
- Lower Nicola Eco-Depot Building Rebuild and New Recycling Baler ($960,000)
- Monte Creek Fire Hall Pumper Truck ($700,000)
- Clearwater Library Upgrades ($350,000)
- Smith Pioneer Park Improvements ($290,000)
- Blackpool Fire Rescue Replacement Wildland Truck ($250,000)
The TNRD says 56 per cent of the 2024 Capital Plan will be funded by reserves while 35 per cent will be funded by grant funds and eight per cent by borrowing. One per cent of funding for the plan comes from donations specifically for the Loon Lake Fire Hall.
