Sun Peaks to fully open all chairlifts Friday

KAMLOOPS — After weeks of limited runs, necessitated by a lack of snow, Sun Peaks is opening its final two chairlifts today (Dec. 22).

“The alpine awaits! As an early Christmas present for Sun Peaks skiers and snowboarders, we’re happy to share that the Burfield and Crystal chairlifts will open for the season on Friday, December 22. Both lifts will run daily as per regular operating hours,” wrote Marketing Director Aaron Macdonald.

That means 90 runs will be open on the alpine side of the resort, however early season conditions do remain.

“The majority of our Nordic skiing network is now open. Please note that due to current conditions dogs and fat bikes are not permitted on the Nordic trails at this time,” added Macdonald

Sun Peaks has received 18 cm of snow in the past 7 days, including 4 cm yesterday alone.
