A Way Home halfway to Campout campaign goal

KAMLOOPS – Over the weekend, A Way Home Kamloops hosted its annual Campout to End Youth Homelessness.

The fundraiser aims to give participants a tiny glimpse into the unhoused experiences that could be changed with proper support.

While this year saw fewer campers, the organization says it was just as impactful.

“I think last year there was a little bit more attendance and this year, this year was definitely a lot colder,” said Nicole Larsen, A Way Home’s housing manager. “I woke up pretty early in my tent and it was like, ‘Wow, it’s really cold.’ But, you know, I have the ability to go home into a warm bed where not everyone does. Just being aware of that, to be mindful. That was just really impactful.”
