Two killed in crash along Highway 5 north of Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — Two people were killed in a crash on Highway 5 in the North Thompson over the weekend.

On Saturday (Dec. 2), Clearwater and Barriere RCMP were called to the scene of a collision between a commercial truck and a car on Highway 5 between the two communities.

“Initial investigation points to the commercial vehicle entering the oncoming lane, where it struck the oncoming car,” reads the release from BC Highway Patrol.

Tragically, two occupants of the car were pronounced deceased at the scene.

BC Highway Patrol is leading the investigation with assistance from collision analysis and reconstruction services, commercial vehicle safety enforcement as well as Clearwater and Barriere RCMP detachments.
