Merritt RCMP seeking information after goat found dead following pit bull attack

MERRITT, B.C. — A goat was found dead near a home in Merritt after it was attacked by a pit bull.

In a news release, Merritt RCMP say it was told of an online post Friday (Nov. 24) where a suspect posted a video of a pit bull violently attacking a white goat inside a house as onlookers stood by and encouraged the attack.

RCMP say officers identified the house as being on the 2600-block of Granite Avenue and they obtained a search warrant.

“Sadly, we found the remains of a goat during our search,” S/Sgt. Josh Roda says. “We are trying to identify where the goat came from. We would like to determine if the goat was stolen, sold or given away.”
