47th annual Seniors’ Christmas Lights Tour takes place in December
KAMLOOPS — The City of Kamloops is inviting individuals aged 55 and over to go on the free, annual bus tour on Thursday, Dec. 7 to see some of the best and brightest lights in the city.
After the tour from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., participants will head to Sandman Centre to enjoy hot beverages and holiday goodies while watching live performances from the Kamloops Rube Band and the Kamloops Pride Choir.
“We are excited to bring back the annual Seniors’ Light Tour—an event that the seniors in our community look forward to every year,” said Janvi Desai, the City’s Community Events Coordinator. “This started as a one-off event with two buses and fewer than 60 participants. It has grown into a tradition with over 600 participants, 25 buses, and close to 100 volunteers. We look forward to having a great time with this year’s participants and giving them a wonderful time this holiday season.”
The event is free, but registration is required. People can register online or call 250-828-3500 – deadline is Friday, December 1. Participants who require handyDART are encouraged to register for the service after they have registered for the lights tour with the City.
