Kamloops RCMP following up on note soliciting sex in Brocklehurst

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP are investigating after being made aware of a note soliciting sex in exchange for money.

Discussion of the note turned up on social media. Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says police were advised of the note at about 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday (Nov. 22).

On the note, a meeting place was set on Southill Street in Brocklehurst for sex with a “young lady.”

When officers attended, they located a person of interest and questioned that person.

“Because police were promptly notified of this incident, officers were able to investigate and collect information which may be beneficial should a similar occurrence be reported,” said Evelyn. “We are aware that there was some discussion about the note on social media prior to police attendance, and encourage anyone with knowledge about this or similar occurrences in the future, to avoid pursuing the matter independently and to please contact police as soon as possible.”
