Safe for the Season campaign reminds Kamloops holiday shoppers to keep their purchases hidden from thieves
KAMLOOPS – For many, holiday shopping has already started and with that, the City of Kamloops and RCMP are once again reminding shoppers to be cautious when shopping for gifts for under the tree.
On Tuesday (Nov. 21) afternoon, crime prevention staff and volunteers kicked off the annual ‘Safe for the Season’ campaign.
“We have our RCMP crime prevention volunteers are going to be patrolling parking lots and just being a presence in the parking lots to deter any potential crimes and also handing out these tip cards and pinning them on the windshield or giving them to the customers just to secure their valuables,” said Sandro Piroddi, crime prevention coordinator, City of Kamloops. “We don’t want thieves to holiday shop in the parking lots while people are shopping in the malls or in the stores.”
