KAMLOOPS — In March of this year, Kamloops RCMP located the body of a woman they believed to be Jo-Anne Donovan. The case is being investigated as a homicide by local Mounties.

The 57-year-old Donovan was last seen near her Westsyde home on March 13, with her body being discovered nine days later on March 22. The investigative path led to multiple search warrants being executed around the community but to this day no charges have been laid in relation to the death.

As the investigation remains open, Kamloops’ top cop was not able to speak freely on progress being made.

“It’s currently an active investigation and a priority for us, so I can’t comment on it, but in the future I certainly will be availed to speak to the progress once we have some success,” said Supt. Jeff Pelley.

Pelley did also speak to some of the success made on other major cases this year, including an arrest in the summer in relation to the death of Mohd Abdullah.

“Some of those investigations are progressing quite well,” said Pelley. “We have some recent convictions and some before the courts, we have had the announcement of the charge back in the summer.”
