More help needed to fill Volunteer Kamloops’ Snow Angel program
KAMLOOPS — Volunteer Kamloops has been around for over 35 years, but one of its local programs is struggling to find enough volunteers. The Kamloops Snow Angels help local seniors and people with mobility issues get out of their homes when the snow hits.
“What the Snow Angels do is they basically adopt that person for the winter. Any time there’s a significant snowfall, they clear the walkway, driveways and sidewalks for them so that they’re safer,” explained Anita Jacobsen, the Link Coordinator with Volunteer Kamloops.
However, Jacobsen said the program needs more volunteers to help all of those who need it.
