Salmon Arm Roots and Blues Festival moves up to July for 2024
KAMLOOPS — Organizers of the Salmon Arm Roots and Blues festival are moving the event earlier in an effort to avoid another wildfire-related cancellation.
The 2023 festival was cancelled at the last minute because of the threat posed by nearby wildfires. It was scheduled to be held on the weekend of August 19 and 20.
Thursday (Nov. 9), organizers announced the 2024 festival will be held on the weekend of July 26 to 28.
“Now in its 32nd year, the (Salmon Arm Folk Music Society) — the non-profit behind the ROOTS and BLUES festival — hopes the festival will benefit from better weather in July and historically less smoky skies to give everyone the best festival experience possible,” states a news release.
