Kamloops RCMP searching for wedding ring and necklace stolen from grandmother
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP are asking the public to keep their eyes peeled for a wedding ring and necklace that were stolen from a grandmother.
In a news release issued Thursday (Nov. 9) morning, police say the grandmother had been in a parked vehicle at a plaza on the 700-block of Fortune Drive on the North Shore at around 2:20 p.m. on Oct. 28 when a woman approached her and tried to give her jewelry.
Police say the woman allegedly entered the grandmother’s vehicle and exchanged jewelry pieces with her then left once she had the wedding ring and necklace.
“The items stolen are of great value to the victim and the family and it’s a shame that they are now without them,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says. “We are releasing images of the items in case someone has come across them – perhaps listed for sale on social media, or at a physical location, and can help lead police to their recovery.”
