Kamloops man sentenced to three years in jail for 2020 downtown stabbing death
KAMLOOPS — A man was sentenced to just over three years in jail for a 2020 killing in downtown Kamloops.
James Dylan Sanford was sentenced in B.C. Supreme Court at the Kamloops Law Courts Tuesday (Nov. 7). He was given 1,139 days in jail and a 10-year firearm prohibition.
Following a trial in January 2023, a jury found Sanford guilty of manslaughter in the September 2020 stabbing death of 33-year-old Daniel Thomas Myles near Canada’s Best Value Inn and Suites in the 1300-block of Columbia Street. Sanford was originally charged with second degree murder.
