Boston Bar wildlife blitz results in 18 wildlife violations
BOSTON BAR, B.C.— Upper Fraser Valley (UFVRD) RCMP participated in a multi-agency wildlife enforcement blitz in the Boston Bar area during the last weekend of October.
Led by the BC Conservation Office, the blitz was attended by over 18 enforcement officers, representatives from the Department of Fisheries and Oceans and wildlife health biologists.
The blitz resulted in 18 wildlife violations, 11 Motor Vehicle Act infractions and three firearm-related tickets. Furthermore, more than 25 samples were collected by biologists toward the provincial chronic wasting disease program.
UFVRD Media Spokesperson Sgt. Mike Sargent highlighted the importance of agency collaboration for efficient preservation.
