WolfPack fall short on season-opener
KAMLOOPS — Thompson Rivers WolfPack men and women’s basketball teams both fell short to Trinity Western Spartans last night (Nov. 3) during their season opener.
The men led by as many as 20 points, but couldn’t quite see out the game in a tight 91-86 loss.
“I thought our guys did a really good job in the first half of competing and I thought the pace of play in the first half was the way we wanted it, it was a grind it out game,” said head coach Chad Jacobson. “They made some adjustments so credit to them, the played well in the second half but we certainly feel like we let that one get away on us.”
The women’s team, which had 10 rookies on their roster, also came up short in a 66-59 loss. It was TRU’s closest result in a season-opener since 2019-20 when they defeated the very same Spartans.
