Temporary pump for Noble Creek Irrigation System users possible
KAMLOOPS — A memo coming to Kamloops council next week suggests using a temporary pump to supply the Noble Creek Irrigation System next summer is possible.
But the memo says there are still a lot of variables council will have to consider before giving any temporary pump plan the green light.
Council voted in September to decommission the portions of the irrigation system that are most at risk due to erosion along the North Thompson River bank.
It also voted to explore the feasibility of a temporary pump option for 2024, giving the 41 users of the system more time to come up with their own irrigation solution for the long term.
