One charged after Halloween stabbing outside Merritt’s Nicola Valley Hospital
MERRITT, B.C. — A man has been arrested and charged after a Halloween stabbing just outside of Nicola Valley Hospital in Merritt.
In a news release, Merritt RCMP say members were called to the hospital after witnesses saw one man stabbing another at the nearby Merritt Community Garden.
The victim, a 42-year-old Merritt man, walked into the hospital’s emergency room with a stab wound to his torso. He was transported in stable condition to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops for further treatment.
With the help of a police service dog, the suspect was located in the area and was arrested without further incident.
