Walhachin area gets starring role in new Apple TV+ series
KAMLOOPS — Apple TV+ subscribers in Kamloops and area are encouraged to keep their eyes peeled for an upcoming TV series, and a specific episode, that showcases the region’s settings.
In a news release issued Wednesday (Nov. 1) morning, the Thompson-Nicola Film Commission (TNFC) says Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, starring Kurt Russell and his son Wyatt, will premiere on Nov. 17, 2023 with episodes 1 and 2. The series was filmed at a location within Electoral Area “I” (Blue Sky Country) in 2022.
“Viewers should keep a particularly close eye on Episode 3 of this series, where many will recognize some familiar landscapes that embody Hollywood’s desire for filming in our region,” Terri Hadwin, TNRD Film Commissioner says.
Hadwin adds Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is the largest film production in the Thompson-Nicola region since Jurassic World Dominion.
