RCMP investigators encounter ‘mass amnesia’ after finding stolen firefighting gear in North Shuswap
CELISTA, B.C. — RCMP say North Shuswap residents connected with stolen firefighting equipment appear to be suffering from “mass amnesia.”
Chase RCMP were looking into tips regarding the stolen gear on August 24 when they arrived at a property in the 5800-block of Squilax Anglemont Road between Celista and Magna Bay.
Tenants allowed investigators onto the property, leading them to find a large water bladder and a water pump, both identified as belonging to the B.C. Wildfire Service (BCWS). The items were seized and returned to BCWS.
Other occupants of the property were seen bringing in various items but when police arrived, they fled.
