Provincial disaster assistance for flood damage extended to some TNRD properties

KAMLOOPS — The province has expanded its Disaster Financial Assistance (DFA) program in response to spring flooding to include part of the Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD).
High water on Cache Creek and the Bonaparte River in April and May damaged dozens of properties.
The DFA program was already extended to the Village of Cache Creek, the Bonaparte First Nation and the Skeetchestn Indian Band.
As of Monday (June 5), the province’s Ministry of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness says the program is now extended to Electoral Area ‘I’ (Blue Sky Country) in the TNRD.
