KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP are looking for video and information related to a series of vehicle fires in Aberdeen and Knutsford Saturday (May 13) morning.

In a news release, police say they attended the 400-block of Laurier Drive at around 3:00 a.m. where Kamloops Fire Rescue (KFR) had just extinguished a vehicle fire. Police add that several other vehicles nearby had gasoline poured on them.

KFR said there were other fires on the 2600-block of Highway 5A where three vehicles were set ablaze. A house and a fence were also damaged.

“Due to the timing and proximity of the fires, police believe they are related,” said Cpl. Crystal Evelyn.

RCMP say two people dressed in black were seen in the Laurier Drive area at the time of Aberdeen fire and were associated to a newer model, light-coloured Honda CRV or SUV with a rear hatch.

“Neighbourhood canvasses have been conducted and will continue to be,” Evelyn adds.

Anyone who may have dash camera footage, security video, or information that may be related to the arson investigation is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP.
