KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers’ 11-1 win over the Victoria Royals at home Wednesday (March 15) was like a rushed drive-thru bagel.

The scoring, like cream cheese, was spread across with 14 Blazers getting on the scoresheet. Although in the middle was a large cheese chunk that was Caedan Bankier and Matthew Seminoff’s combined 14 points.

The Blazers scored five goals in the first period and accomplished the same feat in the second. While Seminoff had two goals in the first, it was Bankier who scored a hat trick first with his two goals in the second.

With six games remaining in the 2022-23 Western Hockey League (WHL) regular season, the Blazers have a record of 45-11-4-2, good for 96 points in 62 games. They trail the Seattle Thunderbirds, who also have six games remaining, for first in the WHL Western Conference by seven points.

Next up for the Blazers is a Friday (March 17) home game against the Kelowna Rockets. Puck drop is at 7 p.m. from Sandman Centre.
