Kamloops newcomers lead Blazers past Spokane Chiefs

KAMLOOPS — Newcomers Ryan Hofer had two goals while Olen Zellweger had a goal and one assist to lead the Kamloops Blazers to a dominating 5 – 2 victory over the visiting Spokane Chiefs Saturday night.
Logan Stankoven had a role in setting up each of their goals, finishing the game with three assists. Daylan Kuefler and Kyle Masters also scored for the Blazers who outshot Spokane 53 – 24.
Matthew Kieper faced 24 shots in his debut since being acquired from Regina days before last Tuesday’s WHL trade deadline.
The Blazers will get a week of practice in before hosting Tri-City for back to back games in Kamloops next weekend.
