Kamloops RCMP release image of suspect in hit-and-run incident with police cruiser
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect related to a stolen vehicle ramming into a police cruiser.
In a news release issued Thursday (Jan. 12) morning, Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says since the initial report on Dec. 15, 2022, RCMP have reviewed security footage and obtained images related to a grey BMW sedan that had been stolen from the Tournament Capital Centre between 6:30 p.m. and 7:20 p.m.
Around 8:40 p.m. that night, officers found the vehicle on the 1300-block of Cornwall Street. The suspect allegedly drove into the front of a stationary police vehicle and fled the area. The BMW was then found vacated on the 900-block of Renfrew Street.
“We are releasing photos of a male suspect in hopes that someone will identify him, or that he’ll turn himself into police, and help further the investigation,” Evelyn says.
