KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Mounties are looking for witnesses after a stolen vehicle rammed a police care Thursday (Dec. 15) night.

On Dec. 15, 2022, around 7:35 p.m., police received a report of a grey BMW sedan that had been stolen from the Tournament Capital Centre on the 900-block of McGill Road between 6:30 p.m. and 7:20 p.m., following the theft of a backpack containing its keys.

Around 8:40 p.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers located the vehicle on the 1300-block of Cornwall Street.

The driver of the BMW – described as a Caucasian woman, 25-30 years old, with dirty blond or brown hair — then allegedly drove into the front of a stationary police vehicle and fled the area. Officers noted a male passenger was in the BMW as well.

The police officer was uninjured and their vehicle only received minor damage. The BMW was located vacated on the 900-block of Renfrew Street.

“Maybe you saw a couple of people walking on or away from Renfrew Street, or maybe someone caught your eye earlier in the day in the parking lot of the TCC – whatever information you think you might have that could help assist in furthering this investigation is worth calling police about please,” said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson.

Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference 2022-44521.
