SALMON ARM, B.C. — Police from both the Salmon Arm and Sicamous RCMP detachments are asking the public to identify a man they believe is responsible for two different serious incidents last week.

On Oct. 21 at around 4:30 p.m., Sicamous RCMP say an unknown man sexually assaulted a 14-year-old youth by groping them. The suspect is described as a clean-shaven white man wearing a dark toque, sunglasses, dark pants, dark shoes, black jacket zip-up with grey stripes on the sleeves, and a medical mask.

Later that night, Salmon Arm RCMP say they were called to a business at the 100-block of Hudson Avenue Northwest at around 9:20 p.m. after a complain about a man exposing himself.

Police say the man fled the scene after being confronted by staff. After failed patrols to find the suspect, Salmon Arm RCMP are searching for more witnesses and anyone who may have dashcam video of any vehicles or people in the area at the time.

The suspect is described as a white man wearing a grey toque, sunglasses, grey pants, dark shoes, brown hoodie, and a medical mask.

“Investigators from both detachments feel that these incidents may be linked, and that the suspect may be the same person,” Sgt. Simon Scott, non-commissioned officer for Salmon Arm RCMP says.

Anyone with information on either of these incidents, or who may have been in the area, is asked to call Sicamous RCMP at 250-836-2878 or Salmon Arm RCMP at 250-832-6044.
