Burning prohibition set to expire in Kamloops Fire Centre

KAMLOOPS — After a lengthy, warm, dry autumn, the open burning prohibition in the Kamloops Fire Centre is set to expire.
In a news release issued Thursday (Oct. 27), the BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) says Category Two and Three open fires will be permitted effective at noon Friday (Oct. 28).
Additionally, BCWS says the following equipment and activities will also no longer be restricted in the Kamloops Fire Centre:
- fireworks
- sky lanterns
- burn barrels or burn cages of any size or description, except when used for a campfire as defined by the Wildfire Regulation
- binary exploding targets
