Water service restored in 100 Mile House; boil water advisory remains

100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — Water service has been restored for residents of 100 Mile House, though a boil water advisory remains in place for the community.

It comes after what the District termed a “major water loss” Tuesday (June 7) from one of the town’s water reservoirs.

In a statement issued Wednesday, the District says the location of the water loss was identified early Tuesday evening “with the help of an alert local resident. The location was then isolated from the rest of the water distribution system.

The District says it does not appear the water system suffered any damage or malfunction.

The boil water advisory remains in place and residents are being given the option of obtaining free drinking water at the South Cariboo Recreation Centre until the advisory is lifted.
