Weather statement warns of weekend snowfall on Coquihalla

KAMLOOPS — Environment Canada is warning drivers that, even though spring has arrived in the valley bottoms, the high elevations are still prone to snowfall.

The forecaster has issued a special weather statement for the Coquihalla Highway as well as the Okanagan Connector, saying a disturbance is forecast to enter the southern Interior this weekend.

Cool temperatures will see the snow level drop to the elevation of the mountain passes or lower.

Environment Canada says snowfall is forecast to accumulate at some locations.
