Clearwater-area wildfire under control
CLEARWATER, B.C. — A wildfire that ignited near Clearwater Monday (May 2) is now under control.
Fire Information Officer Ayden Coray of the B.C. Wildfire Service says the McDougall Forest Service Road blaze southeast of Clearwater was stopped at 2.5 hectares.
Coray says investigators are pinning down the ignition source for the human-caused fire.
She adds there has been a fair amount of wildfire activity in the Kamloops Fire Centre over the past few days — a reminder that the spring green-up is still in progress.
