Chase RCMP find body in burned-out car near Skmana Lake

CHASE, B.C. — Chase RCMP are investigating after finding a body inside a burned-out car near Skmana Lake.

On Friday (April 22), RCMP were called to the area of Skama Lake Road and Loakin Bear Creek Road. They discovered a burned “older sedan” with the body of an unknown individual inside. Investigators are working on identifying the body.

RCMP are calling this an unexpected and suspicious death and the Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation.

A dog was located “wandering the general vicinity” of the vehicle. Investigators are releasing a picture of the dog in hopes someone will recognize it and share information with RCMP.
