KAMLOOPS — RCMP say the death of a person whose body was pulled out of the Thompson River Monday night (Apr. 25) appears to be non-criminal.

In a news release, Cst. Crystal Evelyn says the body was spotted at about 7:00 p.m. in shallow water near the 2000-block of Mission Flats Road. It was first noticed by a couple walking a dog.

While the Kamloops RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit attended along with the B.C. Coroners Service, Evelyn says the death does not appear to be suspicious.

“Although the investigation is ongoing, the cause of death appears to be non-criminal at this time,” said Evelyn. “Police are still working to identify the deceased male.”

Anyone with further information on the discovery is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP and refer to file number 2022-13459.
