MLA Stone appointed as House Leader for Official Opposition, Milobar named Finance Critic in caucus shuffle
KAMLOOPS — Both of Kamloops’ members of the legislative assembly (MLA) were appointed to prominent roles in the BC Liberals’ caucus on Monday (Feb. 7).
Kamloops-South Thompson MLA Todd Stone was appointed house leader for the Official Opposition while remaining the critic for jobs, economic recovery, trade and innovation. Kamloops-North Thompson MLA Peter Milobar, former house leader, was appointed as the critic for finance.
Elsewhere, Fraser-Nicola MLA Jackie Tegart is being put forward as the BC Liberals’ nominee for assistant deputy speaker while Shuswap MLA Greg Kyllo was appointed critic for labour and skills training.
BC Liberals Interim Leader Shirley Bond says she made the appointments in consultation with new leader Kevin Falcon.
