KAMLOOPS — Avid concert goers in Kamloops must wait a few more months before they can rock out at the Sandman Centre again.

The rock band The Offspring announced Monday (Jan. 17) morning that it has cancelled the Canadian leg of their “Let the Bad Times Roll” tour with Simple Plan, which included a stop at the Sandman Centre on Feb. 28.

The band states in a social media post that there’s no point in asking fans in Kamloops and area to see their show if there’s a chance their show would be shut down last minute. The B.C. government reduced seated events back to 50 per cent capacity on Dec. 22 due to the spike in new COVID-19 cases due to the rapid spread of the Omicron variant.

“We’re disappointed, but let’s get through this mess together. You stay home and we’ll stay home… We’re working hard to find a new time frame and we’ll be back to rock with you guys as soon as we can,” The Offspring states.

The band says refunds for tickets purchased will be processed automatically. Ticket buyers are asked to stay tuned for more information from their point of purchase.

As of Monday, the Sandman Centre has two concerts on its 2022 calendar that haven’t been cancelled or postponed: ZZ Top with Cheap Trick on April 26 and Dallas Smith on June 2. The events centre will still host dozens of Kamloops Blazers hockey games in 2022.
