KAMLOOPS — Kamloops City Council approved development permits for two projects for a combined total of 266 housing units during Tuesday’s (Jan. 11) meeting.

The first project is a 229-unit rental apartment complex with four separate four-storey buildings in the eastern end of Valleyview Drive in the Orchards Walk area, between the South Thompson Valley Silt Bluffs and the Trans Canada Highway. The project from Broadstreet Properties will include 44 one-bedroom units, 153 two-bedroom units, and 32 three-bedroom units.

The Valleyview project is a 229-unit rental apartment complex with four separate four-storey buildings in the eastern end of Valleyview Drive in the Orchards Walk area (City of Kamloops).

The other smaller project from Mundi Construction is a 37-unit residential building in downtown Kamloops. The site is the Pizza King location and the neighbouring parking lot on the corner of Fifth Avenue and Victoria Street. The plan is to remove the pizzeria and construct a six-storey building with two-levels of underground parking for residential units and a ground-floor business space.
