KAMLOOPS — The Tim Hortons Brier will also see a new B.C. representative on the men’s side.

Jim Cotter and his team fell 7-5 to Team Richard in the semifinal of the 2022 B.C. Curling Championship from the Kamloops Curling Club Saturday (Jan. 8) evening. It’s the first time since 2018 that the Vernon skip who grew up in Kamloops won’t represent B.C. at the men’s national curling championship.

The loss comes one day after Team Corryn Brown, the Kamloops rink, fell in the page playoff of the women’s provincials on Friday (Jan. 7). Team Brown represented B.C. at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts – the national women’s curling championship – in 2020 and 2021.

The provincial finals conclude Sunday (Jan. 9) from the Kamloops Curling Club, with Team Arsenault from Kelowna taking on Team MacMillan from Vancouver on the women’s side, and Team Richard from Kelowna taking on Team Cseke from Victoria on the men’s side.
