Brown’s hopes to repeat as B.C. champion dashed
KAMLOOPS — Corryn Brown’s bid to repeat as B.C. champion is over.
The Kamloops rink dropped an 8-7 decision on Friday night to Sarah Wark and has been knocked out of the B.C. curling championships.
After giving up a steal in the third, Brown rebounded with a single to make it a 2-1 game. The teams traded deuces in the fifth and sixth ends before Brown scored a triple in the eighth to go ahead 6-5. However, Wark responded with three of her own to take the lead — a lead she wouldn’t relinquish.
The Wark rink, which features Kamloops natives Karla Thompson and Amanda Guido, will now play Mary-Anne Arsenault in the semi-final on Saturday at 2 p.m.
