KAMLOOPS — Monday (Nov. 22) marks 22 days since the disappearance of Shannon White — a 32-year-old Kamloops woman who hasn’t been seen since the morning of Nov. 1.

But her best friend, Angela Hulsman, continues searching for answers.

“We just want her home. It gets harder every day to imagine what that looks like,” said a tearful Hulsman.

“But we just want to bring her home so that, you know… We just need her home,” she explained.

Hulsman says she won’t stop searching for Shannon. On Sunday (Nov. 21), she organized a search for the missing woman.

More than 60 people showed up to search. Friends, family and even complete strangers gathered in the cold, packed lunches and set out to look for Shannon.

“Unfortunately, because we didn’t find her — to a lot of us, it didn’t feel productive. However, to a lot of us, it was nice knowing that we could actually be a part of looking for her and trying to bring her home,” she explained.

The gathering was in an area west of Kamloops — an undisclosed location police say Shannon’s black Jeep was spotted.

The Jeep was also seen driving north of town, in a spot Kamloops Search and Rescue (KSAR) scoured all weekend.

Both efforts are helping them narrow down Shannon’s location.

“I can’t share the results of that. We are currently suspended, due to snow, and the fact that we hit both search areas extremely hard,” explained Alan Hobler, Search Manager for KSAR.

KSAR will re-deploy when the RCMP calls them. Until then, many questions remain.

“My personal biggest fear is not finding her. Not being able to give her family closure. Not having answers. The not knowing is the hardest,” Hulsman continued.

And whether she gets those answers or not, Angela is committed to taking care of Shannon’s other best friend — her dog — Buddy.

“As of right now, Buddy will stay with us. If her dad decides that he needs to be elsewhere, that’s up to him. But we’ve let him know that he is more than welcome to stay with us if needed,” she said.
