BURNABY, B.C. — St. Ann’s Academy entered Thursday’s action with a good shot to advance to the championship round after a win and a draw to open the B.C. Boys’ A High School Soccer Championship in Burnaby.

However, they lost 2-0 to Glenlyon Norfolk from Victoria. The Crusaders finished Pool B in a tie for second, but lost out on a spot in the championship round on a tiebreaker. St. Ann’s will play in a consolation game at 2:45 Friday afternoon against Kelowna Christian Secondary.

Meanwhile, after getting a rude awakening on the opening day, Clearwater Secondary School bounced back on day two to earn a point. Clearwater earned a 3-3 draw against Kelowna Christian, who were already beat badly on day one on Thursday. Both teams failed to qualify for the championship round. As the fourth-place finishers in Pool A, Clearwater will play in a consolation game on Friday against Northside Christian from Vanderhoof.
