RCMP find no confirmation of gunshot at Motel 6 in Valleyview

KAMLOOPS — Motel 6 in Valleyview was evacuated and searched following a report of a gun shot heard Monday (Oct. 4) morning.

Kamloops RCMP say each room in the motel on the 1700-block of East Trans Canada Highway was evacuated and searched, and no injuries or signs confirming a gun shot were located.

Due to police presence and out of an abundance of caution, police recommended a nearby daycare to be put on a hold and secure. Traffic was rerouted and residents were requested to avoid the area.
